Licensed Vocational Nurses duties include escorting patients to exam rooms, obtains and appropriately records patient vital signs/medication list, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor clinical procedures such as EKGs, prepares patient chart with pertinent medical information, and administers medication as directed by the physician are some of the LVN’s responsibilities. Diagnostic tests ordered by a physician are scheduled when they are required. Performs a variety of administrative tasks, such as answering patient phone calls, returning phone calls, receiving and sorting incoming faxes, and getting previous authorizations, as well as other activities as assigned. The right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality of the patient is protected at all times. In conformity with standards, rules, and safety requirements, ensures that the workplace is safe for everyone. Ensures that infection control policies are followed to the letter. Various nursing administrative responsibilities, as well as medicine refills, are performed. Other duties will be allocated.
